A Bit About Me
Hello, my name is Sabrina Reed and I am taking this full stack web development course to finish my associate's in computer information systems. I started this program back in 2021, and am happy to be finishing it now. I am most excited to learn about how all of the front and back end elements come together to create a working and functional web page. I am hoping to take this information with my into my career as a Cloud Engineer to assist in putting web apps to production. I have taken Java and Javascript courses and I believe this will help me as I work through this course. I have been really enjoying html and css so far.
Some of my hobbies include sewing, knitting, crocheting, golfing, and canning. Canning has been a new hobby for me as I have been picking tons of tomatoes out of my garden. I have canned diced tomatoes, crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, and pasta sauce. I have also canned jalapeño jelly this season. It's fun to learn new hobbies! Some other projects I'm currently working on when I'm not working or working on homework are a crochet cardigan and a quilt wall hanging I am making my sister for her birthday.
Technology has always excited me. From playing video games as a kid to now working as a cloud engineer, I have learned there is so much more to technology and the systems we interact with everyday. I have learned so many different programming languages through this associate's degree program as well as learning AI and IT and security fundamentals. This has been a very well rounded curriculum and I'm excited to see where this knowledge takes me. Even if I don't become a developer, these skills will help with my career in many ways over the next many years I have left of my career. I am excited to work on my final project throughout the semester and create the website of my dreams for a small business dream that I'll maybe one day bring to life.
This website is my portfolio where you will find my work in web development. You will see projects and assignments as I grow my web development skills throughout this course. This site will continue to grow and get more complex as the weeks go on. The main purpose of this website is to provide a place where I can organize and showcase the work that I complete during this course. Instead of having my assignments in different places, I can use this website to keep my work together and make it easy to find.
This portfolio also represents my learning journey throughout the course. As I learn more about HTML, CSS, and other web development concepts, I will be able to add new projects and improve the pages that are already on the website. Some of the work on the site may be simple at first because I am still learning the basics. As I become more comfortable with web development, I expect my projects and website to become more detailed and organized.
Another purpose of this website is to show the progress I make over time. I will be able to look back at my earlier assignments and compare them to the projects I complete later in the course. This will help me see what I have learned and how my skills have improved. It will also give me a place to practice the skills I learn instead of only completing individual assignments.
My portfolio will include different projects and assignments that demonstrate what I have learned. I will continue adding to the website as the course progresses. By the end of the course, I hope this website will show how much my understanding of web development has grown. Overall, this foundational website is both a place to display my work and a way to document my progress as I learn and develop new web development skills.
